Sporting a purple and gold wrapper, the colors you would associate with wealth and luxury, Cadbury aptly named this chocolate bar the Cadbury Flake Luxury. Also known as simply the Cadbury Flake and Cadbury Flake Dipped, the wrapper depicts an image of the bar featuring a thin layer of chocolate with a textured, flaky inside. However, flaky it is not.
The actual chocolate looks like a longer and taller Twix bar. I took a bite and surprisingly, there was no crunch. I expected the inside of the bar to be flaky and crispy, as advertised on the wrapper and its name. But, it was all false. The flavor tastes very milky. You can bite into it easily as it is soft and seems to crumble in your mouth. Not in a good way though, unless you like creamy, milky chocolate.
I am not a fan of the Cadbury Flake Luxury chocolate bar. It wasn’t completely disgusting, but it isn’t something I’d ever buy again. I find nothing luxurious about it, except maybe its $2 price tag. Every time I take a bite, the dry chocolate makes me thirsty for water. Cadbury also manufactures Flake Snow and Flake Dark, the white and dark chocolate versions. However, after how well this review went, I have no desire to try them.

aww that’s a shame as I actually enjoy this brand. I ate it in London where, at the time, flake was this huge thing and could be found everywhere. I think the flake refers more to the ribbons of chocolate on the inside, something like chocolate shavings/curls topped on desserts that crumble rather than the flakes of a crisp wafer. I agree that the chocolate could be of higher quality but I didn’t mind the texture to it at all.
