So, I did not hesitate to buy the new, Limited Edition Snickers Fudge bar. I assumed that it was regular Snickers with a chocolate, fudgy filling. Only when I got home did I notice the description on the wrapper which described it as a peanut butter nougat with peanuts.

The new Snickers Fudge bar sports a new beige wrapper with light brown stripes. As expected, the huge Snickers logo is smack dab in the middle with “Fudge” written underneath. The exterior of the chocolate bar looks exactly like the original Snickers. The difference obviously lies within. The inside is neatly arranged with a peanut nougat lower layer and an upper layer of chocolate fudge and peanuts.

With my first bite, I mostly noticed the difference in texture from the original Snickers. The Snickers Fudge is easy to bite into and is first crumbly before it turns creamy. The nougat’s peanut butter flavor is subtle and together with the upper fudge layer and peanuts, the Snickers Fudge bar is a definite winner.

I chose the Almond Joy Pieces and also went ahead and bought a bag of the York Pieces. The bags are resealable and have the candies’ original logos on them – the Almond Joy with its blue bag and York with its gray/silver bag.

If you don’t know what Reese’s Pieces look like, think M&M’s but slightly bigger. The Almond Joy Pieces come in three colors – blue, white and brown. All three colors are the same flavor, each filled with milk chocolate and coconut pieces. One thing not so noticeable are the almonds! They are listed in the ingredients, but I barely noticed them in the actual pieces. It is probably because the pieces are too small to fit whole almonds in them, so they have to use small chopped almonds instead. Although the almonds aren’t as evident as I would have hoped, these still serve as a tasty snack.

Almond Joy Pieces – Rating: 3 out of 5 stars

The York Pieces consist of two colors – blue and white. They taste just like actual York Peppermint Patties but in a smaller form. With each bite, the outer dark chocolate layer gives way to the very apparent and very strong peppermint flavor. Of course, if you were a fan of York Peppermint Patties to begin with, you will enjoy these as well. One downside is that the soft, crumbly texture of the original York Peppermint Patties gets lost in the M&M-like form of these York Pieces.

York Pieces – Rating: 3 out of 5 stars

Overall, the chocolates were just another batch of decent chocolates. Nothing much to rave about. They are worth a try just because they are new. Be warned though, they don’t come cheap as they cost about $4 each.

The candy is packed in a silver wrapper with a green image of South America in the background. A short description on the wrapper describes the chocolate bar as milk chocolate with peanuts. You could think of it similar to Mr. Goodbar with a higher chocolate to peanut ratio.

Specifically, Sublime is a 34 gram chocolate bar, small in length but pretty thick. Unlike a Mr. Goodbar, Sublime is more square rather than a rectangular bar. My first bite consisted only of the milk chocolate. The chocolate is milky and sweet, but nothing special on its own. I took another bite that included some of the peanut pieces and it tasted better overall.

All in all, this Sublime chocolate bar is anything but “sublime”. It is nothing to rave about. It was just average to me. If anything, I would have preferred more peanut pieces. However, even with more nuts, it would not make this chocolate more than average.

According to their website, there are five flavors – triple chocolate, dark chocolate, chocolate almond, mint chocolate, and raspberry almond. At the store, I did indeed find five flavors, but instead of the dark chocolate listed on the website, I found a Mocha flavored one. Maybe the website is wrong and there isn’t a dark chocolate flavor, or perhaps there are actually six flavors out there? Either way, these M&M’s Premiums are different from your regular bags of M&M’s. They are fancied up in hourglass-shaped boxes and are also more expensive at the cost of about $5 a box.

Beginning with the Raspberry Almond M&M’s Premiums, I have to say they look very appealing. Inside the red box is a clear bag with different sized egg-shaped M&M’s, some small and some big, depending on the actual size of the inner almond. Their color is what makes them appealing as they are of a metallic pink color with black speckles. When I opened the bag I could instantly smell the raspberry flavor. As someone who is not big on chocolate with fruity insides, I honestly was not expecting to like these. However, these turned out to be rather good. The raspberry flavor is apparent in every bite, but the almond offsets the raspberry flavor keeping it from taking over the chocolate. Each almond is wrapped in raspberry flavored white chocolate which is then covered with a layer of dark chocolate. Although delicious, I couldn’t distinguish the white chocolate from the dark chocolate, but biting it in half, the separate chocolate layers look pretty neat. Overall, a must try.

M&M’s Premiums Raspberry Almond - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

The Triple Chocolate M&M’s Premiums are packaged in a purple box. Inside, the M&M’s are big, circular, metallic purple with metallic blue speckles. As you might have already guessed by the triple chocolate flavor, each M&M has three layers of chocolate – milk, white and dark. I sucked on one and could taste the M&M going from dark to white to milk chocolate. However, I wouldn’t recommend eating them that way, as it didn’t taste like anything special. Each chocolate layer, including the dark, was very sweet. Chewing on the Triple Chocolate Premium M&M’s, I wasn’t able to differentiate the three different types of chocolate, but there definitely was some happiness going on in my mouth. They are similar to Plain M&M’s as they have nothing inside except chocolate, but these M&M Premiums are bigger and therefore have more chocolate with each bite. I am not sure whether it is attributable to the bigger size or the three different chocolate layers, but the Triple Chocolate M&M’s Premiums are a step up from Plain M&M’s.

M&M’s Premiums Triple Chocolate - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars

Now for the Mint Chocolate M&M’s Premiums. They are metallic green speckled with black and come packaged in a green box. Shape-wise, they are exactly like the Triple Chocolate Premiums – circular and bigger than Plain M&M’s. Upon opening the bag, I was instantly hit with a whiff of the mint chocolate, reminding me of mint chocolate chip ice cream. Yum. Better than the smell was the actual taste. Double Yum. They are like Andes Mints but in M&M’s form. Each M&M has a white chocolate mint center wrapped with dark chocolate. After eating some, my throat was left with a cool, minty feel. A pleasant sensation only adding to the delicious-ness of the Mint Chocolate M&M’s Premiums.

M&M’s Premiums Mint Chocolate - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

Next flavor – Mocha M&M’s Premiums. Just like the color of coffee, the Mocha M&M’s Premiums are sold in brown boxes. The M&M’s themselves are metallic bronze with black speckles, my personal favorite color of the Premiums line. I opened the bag expecting them to smell like coffee, but surprisingly, they just smelled like chocolates. Unlike the previous M&M’s Premiums, the mocha flavor consists of only milk chocolate. The Mocha M&M’s have a mere hint of the mocha flavor, which is a little disappointing. The mocha flavor is there but easily gets lost within the milk chocolate. Don’t get me wrong, it is still good, but I could have done with more mocha.

The last flavor I have is the Chocolate Almond M&M’s Premiums. Packaged in a blue box, the first color that comes to mind when looking at the M&M’s themselves is cerulean, my favorite crayon color as a kid (high five if you know what I am talking about). They are metallic blue (or cerulean =D) with dark midnight blue speckles. I find it interesting that they chose plain ol’ almond milk chocolate when they already have a regular Almond M&M’s product. They should have gone with something different, such as chocolate hazelnut, or at least have made it dark chocolate almond or white chocolate almond. Also, why make both a raspberry almond and a chocolate almond flavor? Possibly for people, like me, who do not like fruity chocolate? Regardless, I found the Chocolate Almond M&M’s Premiums to be average tasting. So, even with not being a fan of chocolate with fruity flavors, I very much prefer the raspberry almond flavor over the chocolate almond.

M&M’s Premiums Chocolate Almond - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars

The entire M&M’s Premiums line looks very attractive, but unfortunately have my invisible expensive seal stamped on them. One thing to note is that inside each box, the M&M’s are contained in a resealable bag. So, each bag has a hole covered with a cute, resealable sticker that says “simply fabulous…always fun.” For $5, I would recommend trying the Raspberry Almond and Mint Chocolate flavors. The rest are up to you to try at your own risk =D

Each package costs about $1.29 at World Market and contains three individually packaged Nutffles.

First up: the Hazelnut. The Hazelnut Nutffles are dome-shaped and wrapped in lime green foil. Unwrapped, they resemble the look of Ferrero Rocher, though not as “nutty” looking. Made with Belgian chocolate, each Hazelnut Nutffle consists of a whole Hazelnut surrounded by three layers. Inside, the Hazelnut is covered with a smooth, creamy chocolate filling that is followed with a thin, cocoa crisp wafer. Keeping the Nutffle together, its outermost layer is a chocolate layer surrounded with rice crisps. Altogether, this Hazelnut Nutffle does wonders. The hazelnut, rice crisps and crisp wafer gives the Nutffle a nice crunch which is deliciously offset by the creamy chocolate filling. Suffice to say, the rich Belgian chocolate and hazelnut flavor are a really nice touch.

Hazelnut Nutffles - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

Now for the Almond. The purple foiled Almond Nutffles are made of the same layers but, of course, the hazelnuts are replaced with almonds. Obviously, since I enjoyed the hazelnut variation, it was no surprise that the almond was equally as satisfying. I loved it. However, I think the Hazelnut gives the Nutffles an extra oomph in flavor, while the Almond gives it a better crunch. After eating both flavors and finding them both oh-so good, I realize it’s the smooth, inner chocolate filling that makes the Nutffles absolutely delicious.

Almond Nutffles - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

I recommend both these Cocoa D’or Nutffles to anyone as they definitely do not disappoint. The different nuts give these Nutffles a slight difference, but if you’re big on nuts, there is also Peanut flavored Nutffles which I did not find. The $1.29 price tag is nothing compared to the happiness these Nutffles have given me =D

These chocolates were good from the first bite on. Overall, the Reese’s Select Clusters tasted exactly like the original Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups except with the addition of tiny pecan and peanut chunks. Since the pecans and peanuts were chopped small, I really couldn’t tell which nut was which when I was eating them. Regardless, the nuts added that bit of crunch and were a great addition.

Due to the summer heat, I ate these Reese’s Select Clusters when they were slightly melted which made them deliciously soft and easy to bite into. I later threw them in the fridge and found that I liked them better. When they were cold, the hardened center really brought out the caramel in the chocolates.

If you like the original Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup, you’ll definitely enjoy these =D
