Life Savers Gummies Sweet Strings N Sour Rings

These are new gummies from Life Savers. I originally thought they were Sweet and Sour Strings and Rings, like they were sour on the outside and sweet in the inside. But instead, I realized that they are called “Sweet Strings N Sour Rings.” So, the strings are sweet raspberry and sweet cherry flavored while the rings are sour fruit punch and sour green apple flavored. Even before trying them, I was already wishing there were more flavors.
If you are looking for these gummies at the store, they are pretty hard to miss. The bag is Pink and Lime Green and are practically shouting for attention. Inside, all the strings and rings are covered with sugar crystals. They all actually look sour, but surprisingly are true to the advertising on the bag. The strings are sweet and the rings are sour. The flavors were okay, but one in particular stood out in my mind – the Sour Fruit Punch “Ring.” I say “ring” because I only had ONE in the bag! A little disappointing since it was so flavorful and tasted just like fruit punch. The gummies are thick but they have more of a soft chew. I find refrigerating the gummies more to my liking, as they not only give them a cool, refreshing feel but also give them a slightly harder chew.
I would have been happy with a bag of completely sour strings and rings. However, it is kind of neat to be able to share this bag with someone who only likes sour or sweet candy. Say, if your friend likes sour and you like sweet, you can still buy one bag to share! But do look for a bigger bag than a mere two ounce bag like the one I bought for $1. All in all, these Life Savers Gummies Sweet Strings N Sour Rings are pretty decent. I will have to keep my eye open for a bigger bag (specifically for more of the sour fruit punch flavor!).

Loading ...Fantasy Sour Belts

I was at the mall last week and I stopped by the Sweet Factory. For those of you who don’t know what the Sweet Factory is, it is a candy store usually found in a mall, with a large selection of goodies. You grab a bag and fill it with whichever candies you want and pay per pound. So, I was with my brother and we each grabbed a bag to fill with candy. My bag, of course, consisted of sour candy, mainly sour belts and sour cherries. Our total candy combined came out to about $14; which I found ridiculous considering how it didn’t seem like we had that much candy.
First of all, these belts are multi-colored with red, yellow, green, and blue. The red is strawberry, the yellow is banana, the green is apple, and the blue is blue raspberry. The flavors are not distinct enough to pick out when you bite into it, but together they taste delicious. To top it off, the entire belt is covered with sour crystals. When you bite off a piece, you get that initial sourness, and then it turns into a really yummy fruity, sweetness. Hands down, this is the best sour belt flavor out there.
I absolutely fell in love with the Fantasy Sour Belts. Don’t get me wrong, I have had these sour belts in the past, but I had forgotten just how good they were. I quickly finished off what little sour belts I had, and went on an Internet hunt for more. That led me to Sweet Factory’s website where I found that they sell candies in bulk. So yes, I gave in and bought a huge tub of Fantasy Sour Belts. A 4.1 pound tub of Fantasy Sour Belts to be exact!
I ordered my gigantic tub of Fantasy Sour Belts on Friday night and they came in the mail the following Tuesday. For standard shipping, I was surprised but extremely happy to have my candy so soon. One thing I did notice is that the Fantasy Sour Belts I bought from the actual store were sourer than the ones I received in the mail. Oh well, I guess it’s one of those “luck of the draw” type of things. In the end, I am still really happy with my Fantasy Sour Belts. How could I not be, when I have this huge tub of sour belts that will last me forever? =D

I was browsing for some sour candy online and came across the Tangy Zangy website. They are not sold in many places, but my boyfriend was kind enough to find Tangy Zangy Sour Sticks for me at Winn Dixie. Although there are various flavors, the only one he could find was Green Apple.
On the bag is a cute apple character with huge eyes and pursed lips to indicate that the candy is sour. Inside the bag, you’ll find a party going on with fruit sticks and sour crystals galore. The sticks are almost completely covered in sour crystals and look like Sour Punch Straws, except they aren’t hollow like the straws.
I was honestly expecting these to taste just like Sour Punch Straws, but when I took my first bite, I was actually taken back by the sourness. Don’t get me wrong, this was a good thing. I love really sour candy and this was definitely sourer than Sour Punch Straws. It’s sour enough to cause your tongue to go numb a bit, especially if you eat too much in one session. So, be sure to take it easy! Now, if only I could find other flavors to try…

I love sour candy and Warheads candy have always been among my favorites. One of their new products called Warheads Double Drops is a bottle that has 30 ml of two sour flavors. The one I picked up contains watermelon and blue raspberry. Most Warheads products have a sour meter on the packaging showing how sour the candy is, but this bottle doesn’t have that. However, if you look closely, it does say “super sour liquid candy.” Let’s see if that holds true.
The Warheads Double Drops looks like two plastic containers stuck together that squeeze out liquid similar to eye droppers. It is small and compact and you don’t have to worry about it making a mess in your purse or pocket since it has a cap that stays firmly shut. In fact, inside the cap are two plastic tabs that keep the liquid from accidentally squeezing out when the cap is on.
So how did it taste? Let me start off by saying I have never been a huge fan of the flavor watermelon, but the watermelon half of the Warheads Double Drops was really, really good. The watermelon flavor isn’t too strong and the sourness definitely makes its presence known. Similarly, the blue raspberry flavor is, in a word, sourlicious (sour + delicious). I would equate the sourness to that of the Warheads Sour Spray in the previous post, so yes, “Super Sour” rating it is. Another thing you can do with the Warheads Double Drops is squeeze both sides to get both flavors at once. I did just that and I can’t say it tasted any better than squeezing out each side one at a time. Either way makes me happy =D
One thing to note, you can squeeze the bottle once to get 1-2 drops at a time, or squeeze down for a couple seconds to get more in your mouth. At one point, I squeezed down both sides for a long time, swallowed too much too fast and OUCH. Major pain. Haha. The pain eventually subsided and I was back to happiness, but a word of advice, be careful. Slow squirts are the way to go.
All in all, I heart these Warheads Double Drops <3. They cost about $1.59 and are a must try for my fellow sour candy lovers out there =D

When I bought the Skittles Spray Candy from the previous post, I had to also buy the Warheads Super Sour Spray Candy to compare them. According to the Warheads website, the Warheads Super Sour Spray Candy comes in four flavors – Green Apple, Watermelon, Blue Raspberry and Grape. However, make that five or possibly more flavors since the one I bought is black cherry flavored. Weird how companies do not update their websites. The Black Cherry flavored Warheads Super Sour Spray contains 20 ml and is rated “Super Sour” on the Warheads Sour Meter.
One thing I like about this sour spray is it’s easy opening. A simple twist of the cap and you’re ready to start spraying. Unlike the Skittles Spray Candy, the Black Cherry Warheads Super Sour Spray took about 15-20 pumps before anything came out of it. The spray itself is more of a direct squirt which is nice. As for the flavor, if you’ve ever had the regular Black Cherry Warheads hard candy, it tastes exactly like that. A cherry flavor with a slight twist. Keep in mind that this spray has a super sour rating and when Warheads say super sour, they mean super sour. Since it is a spray, the black cherry sourness only lasts for a couple seconds before it is gone. So I can sit here forever spraying to keep the delicious sourness going.
Overall, the Black Cherry Warheads Super Sour Spray Candy was more sour than the Green Apple Sour Skittles Spray, but I found that I liked it just as much. To make things even better, I bought it at Walgreens and didn’t find out till later that it was on sale and only rang up as 35 cents! Don’t you just love unexpected surprises like that?
