Also part of the Godiva Gems Collection is the Dark Chocolate Caramels. It is packaged in a very pretty gold and bronze bag, which contains 12 individually wrapped pieces. Compared to the Dark Chocolate Truffle Gems, these Dark Chocolate Caramel Gems are also about $4 but are square shaped, instead of round. It obviously takes up less space, but yet, only a dozen were in the bag. I bet they could have fit at least 30 of these delicious gems.
The outer chocolate layer is a rich, sweet dark chocolate. The sweet caramel is soft and easy to bite into. One thing I really like about these Dark Chocolate Caramel Gems is that I don’t get caramel goo stuck to my teeth whenever I eat them. But since the caramel is already super sweet, I would have preferred a touch more bitterness to the dark chocolate.
Overall, great caramel dark chocolate for caramel lovers out there. Don’t fret milk chocolate lovers, there’s a milk chocolate line out there for you too. If you don’t like really soft caramel, you can always refrigerate them first.

These Dark Chocolate Truffles are part of the Godiva Gems Collection. Similar to the previous post, the bag these chocolates are in is decorated with purple and gold. Unlike the Cadbury Flake Luxury, I would associate the words ‘wealth’ and ‘luxury’ with Godiva chocolates in general since they’re pricey and downright delicious. But do these Godiva Dark Chocolate Truffle Gems live up to the Godiva name?
These chocolates are packaged in what look like fancied up brown paper lunch bags. Looking into the bag, it reminded me of how companies package potato chips. Don’t you just hate how potato chips are packaged to only fill up half the bag? These chocolates are similar; you only get 12 truffles in one bag when it seems they could have easily fit in 20. Each truffle is individually wrapped. They are round shaped and have “GODIVA” imprinted about four times on each of them. A little much maybe?
Eating them, you can tell they’re dark chocolates, but even so, they are more sweet than they are bitter. Inside each round ball is the rich, creamy filling that makes these truffles. Think rich, smooth, and creamy chocolate. Each truffle has a line that circles the middle and I have found that biting on the line separates the truffle in half quite nicely. So I eat them that way to savor each truffle and slowly finish them off. One bag costs about $4 but it is a very nice addition to the Godiva brand. If milk chocolate is your thing, do know that these Godiva Truffle Gems are also available in milk chocolate =D
