Kazoozles, another Wonka brand candy with an interesting name. Similar to Twizzlers Sweet and Sour Filled Twists, these Kazoozles are also rope candy with fillings. There are two flavors – Cherry Punch and Pink Lemonade. Never failing to bring out the kid in everyone, the description on the wrapper reads “delickoricious chewy candy.”
First off, the Cherry Punch Kazoozles. Each package comes with two red cherry flavored ropes with blue punch filling. The cherry rope has a perfect chewy consistency; not too hard and not too soft. I could easily chew it without it getting stuck to my teeth. The punch filling looks gooey and sticky, but practically melts in your mouth. Together, the Cherry Punch Kazoozles are absolutely “delickoricious.” They are like fruit snacks, but better.

The Pink Lemonade Kazoozles contain two lemon ropes with pink cherry filling. They look exactly like the Cherry Punch Kazoozles except the pink lemonade version has sour sugar crystals sprinkled all over it. Don’t let that fool you though; the crystals make it more tangy than sour. Nothing on the wrapper says it’s supposed to be sour, so I can’t really be mad at that. Overall, the Pink Lemonade Kazoozles taste good, can be a bit messy due to the sugar crystals.

Both were pretty tasty but I prefer the cherry punch over the pink lemonade for two reasons. First, the Cherry Punch Kazoozles aren’t as messy as the sugar covered Pink Lemonade Kazoozles. Second, the flavor of the cherry rope speaks to the cherry fruit roll-up lover in me. For 69 cents each, you can’t really go wrong with either of them.
I was at Walgreens and came across the Wonka Tinglerz from the Willy Wonka Candy Company. I was happily surprised to find that it was on sale and only rang up for $0.22 at the cash register! So if you’re near a Walgreens and want to try this out, maybe you’ll be lucky too. The packaging describes this as “poppin’ tinglin’ chocolate candy.” Let’s see if this candy really pops and tingles.
With my first look into the bag, I thought it looked like chocolate covered Nerds or chocolate Dippin’ Dots. The Tinglerz are small clumps of chocolate that aren’t one particular shape, but mainly round and in various small sizes — similar to Nerds. I popped one into my mouth and noticed a slight popping sound but not really any “tingling”. It just tasted like small chocolate rice crisps, and reminded me of Nestle’s Buncha Crunch but in a smaller form.
After eating a single (individual) ‘Tingler’, I then took a handful of Tinglerz and after biting into them, there was the oh-so familiar popping sensation you get when eating Pop Rocks. I have not tried the Chocolate Pop Rocks, but I would imagine they would be very similar to these Tinglerz. If you’ve haven’t eaten Pop Rocks before, the tingling sensation feels like a spark or “tingle” off of your tongue. It’s more pleasant than violent. All in all, the popping and tingling made this candy fun and pleasing! I think everyone, kids especially, would enjoy this candy. So, go get yourself a bag! Just be sure to check out Walgreens first. =D

These are not your typical Nerds. They’re not even shaped like them, they’re a lot bigger. However, when you bite into one, you’ll know that they’re related to the original Nerds. Just as the bag describes these as having a “bumpalicious shell, chewilicious jelly bean center,” they basically are jelly beans with a bumpy outer layer. They come in five different flavors: strawberry, grape, lemon, lime, and orange.
You realize why these are Nerds candy specifically when you try the strawberry and grape ones. The outer layers are reminiscent of the original strawberry and grape Nerds. Although I did immediately think “grape medicine,” the grape flavor eventually grew on me and I finally noticed that they were the original Nerds grape flavor. Then I tried the strawberry and true to its name, it tasted just like the original strawberry Nerds. The jelly bean center was very chewy and made these a great variation of Nerds candy.
The other 3 flavors were actually really good. The orange tasted just like you’d expect orange to taste. The outer shells of the lime and lemon flavors gave off a little sour taste, which were a nice surprise. It made me wonder why they chose both lemon and lime when they’re pretty similar to each other in taste. Couldn’t they have chosen a completely different flavor like watermelon or apple?
Overall, these Giant Chewy Nerds are actually really good. Upon first trying them, I couldn’t put the bag down. I tried eating them by just eating the outer layer first before the jelly bean center and I also tried it by just biting into them, and i couldn’t figure out which way I liked it better. Either way, they’re delicious, under a buck each, and I definitely recommend them to anyone. I only hope they later come out with a sour version =D
